Alaska Waxed Canvas Lookbook

Alaska Waxed Canvas Lookbook

THE NEW WAXED CANVAS COLLECTION, AVAILABLE NOW

When we set out to make the Waxed Canvas Collection, we wanted to take it somewhere that felt a little removed from the everyday. A place where the weather had a say, the landscape dictated the pace, and the things you brought along had a reason to be there.

Last month, a few of us from EVERGOODS headed to Southeast Alaska with a few bags, cameras, and a fun plan. From Juneau, we loaded into a vintage Beaver floatplane and took to the air, trading the familiar for a stretch of water tucked between forested mountains and towering rock walls. Our destination was a remote cabin, accessible only by air.

We were in good company. Nels, a friend of the brand, is seemingly always on the move, whether chasing moose, his kids, or pursuing his next creative project. Kath, a designer, photographer, and creative in her own right, documented the trip in her journal, with a keen eye for the intersection of adventure and creative work. And then there was Pat, our friend, pilot, and Juneau local, who knows these skies like the back of his hand. Getting out there wouldn't have been quite the same without him.

The days took their shape naturally. We explored the shoreline, wandered through the woods, and spent time around the cabin. There was firewood to gather, meals to cook, berries to forage, and plenty of time to sit back and take it all in. We shot photos along the way, documenting the trip as it happened rather than trying to manufacture moments for the camera.

Alaska brought its own conditions. Flights ran late, rain came and went, and mornings started cold. The canvas picked up the marks of the trip, getting wet, creasing, and settling into the kind of character that only comes with use. Nothing needed to be staged. The landscape, the weather, and the miles between places did enough on their own.

By the time we packed up and climbed back into the Beaver, the bags had been put to work and the cameras had plenty to show. We came home with a collection of photographs and a few days worth remembering.

This is a look at that time in Alaska: the places we went, the people we shared them with, and the moments in between.
