Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 120 reviews.

I have this bag in the 30L edition, and it’s my favorite bag I’ve ever owned. From daily use to weekend trips, the full clamshell opening paired with the travel packing cubes (I have the 10L and 4L) and a toiletry bag make this setup as near perfect as I can find. Durable, sleek, and incredibly functional without looking tactical like most bags on the market today. I like to add a colorful patch to make it easily identifiable.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Outstanding bag. Super comfortable to carry even with substantial weight - 20 lbs no problem, though the sternum strap does become highly advisable at heavier weights. Easy to slip off unless needed. The waist strap (I wouldn't call it a hip belt) seems useful if you are on a bike or doing some trail running, and also easy to remove and store. Pocket layout is smart and useful, fabric is great, bag has a nice vibe that looks good but doesn't stand out "expensive bag"! The green is true to the color on the web site. Wouldn't be my first choice for a true hiking daypack, but serviceable for sure. Probably the best all-around bag in the Evergoods lineup and as good an all-arounder as I've ever found. Minor cons, it won't stand up on its own, and the zips mostly need two hands due to the curve and soft fabric.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

I think this bag is an unsung hero of Evergoods line. The MPL is a great all round bag that is very comfortable, more so than their other packs imo. I bought it primarily for day hikes. It's light on organization which is really fine as I primarily need it for layers, medical and tool pouches, and hydration. The side pockets are excellent and can handle a large amount of water. My only wish is that I the straps had built in dangle stoppers. The dangle is a excessive on the hip belt and straps with this bag. But it is a small matter that is easily managed with third party straps but it would have been a nice touch.

Durable, comfy, and serves as the perfect personal item on a plane! Zippers were a bit stiff when I first got the new version of this bag a month ago, but now theyre loosened up and the bag opens easily. Depending on your body type you may need to play with the sternum strap settings to find the perfect fit. Great amount of storage, easy to wipe off, and lightweight. Highly recommend this bag!!

This is my third EVERGOODS backpack, and it did not fail to impress me. I packed it to the rim on a hike last weekend, including a water bladder, snacks, and rain jackets, and it really didn't feel that heavy on my back. The carrying ergonomics are great, and it has plenty of pockets and organization to keep things where they need to be. I compared it to other best-in-class hiking backpacks, and for me personally this is the best one. I'd probably like a more fun color (blue!), but that's just me. The fabric repels water better than I expected. For me, since I'm constantly rotating backpacks, I just love how all of them are organized in the same way, and the different CAPs make "moving" so much easier.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Another great bag! This pack feels very locked in on the body, the curvature of the harness/back panel work really well for me. Every time I try another bag, I immediately miss the contour fit of these bags. I appreciated this system on my CPL and CHZ, I think it works even better with a more sport focused bag like the MPL. Organization and accessibility is just about right for a bag like this. Very no fuss and intuitive user experience. I would love to see EVERGOODS produce a similar bag in the 12L to 15L range. A quick grab and go light day bag. To me, this is the only gap in their lineup. Something like an Osprey Daylite or Arcane built with EVERGOODS thoughtfulness and quality would be amazing!

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Very sturdy backpack. I like that you can access it through the sides. Fits a lot of stuff. When the sand got into it on the beach the small openings at the base of the backpack let it all out. The only complaint is that the zippers could slide more easily. Overall it’s a quality product.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

I picked up the EverGoods MPL and I’m completely in love with it. The build quality is on another level — the CORDURA fabric feels nearly indestructible, the stitching is clean and precise, and every zipper and buckle operates with that solid, premium feel you rarely find anymore. This is a bag that’s clearly made to last for years. But what really won me over is the functionality. The panel-loading design makes packing and finding things effortless, the organization is thoughtful without being cluttered, and the harness system carries comfortably even when I load it up. It transitions seamlessly from daily carry to travel to the outdoors. EverGoods nailed the balance between durability and smart design. Easily one of the best backpacks I’ve ever owned, and worth every penny. Highly recommend.

I have Many Evergoods Products, But the MPL 22 is my absolute Favourite. This bag is 'Almost' Perfect except for the hip belt that looks like some 'careless afterthought' put there just to tick a box. The shoulder straps are not thick enough like my Goruck for its intended use and this pack absolute requires one if taken on a hike ! I have just ordered a Hyperlite Contour lightweight removable hip belt that also adds two massive pockets icreasing the utility of this bag massively !!!! JUST CANT WORK OUT WHY EVERGOODS LEFT THIS OUT ???

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Excellent backpack, with minor improvement areas. Great, responsive zippers. Simple back padding structure. Very comfortable. Massive side bottle pockets - the best I've seen on the market. Improvement ideas: black bottom (yellow fabric gets dirty fast), more loops (climbing shoes, chalk bag, etc. Need yo be kept on the outside), auxiliary elastic rope to allow for securing a wet towel or puffer vest on the outside. Overall, I'd buy it again. +100 for customer service!!!

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

The backpack I didn’t know I needed. It comfortably carries my camera (Tenba 10 DSLR bag) and additional gear on trails, while spending the day in search of wildlife and birds. It shines as my EDC in the city. The full panel stash pocket never seems to fill up and I love being able to access the inside from the side of the pack. I looked at this pack for a long time before deciding to buy it. Thank you guys…you designed the perfect pack for me.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This a great EDC bag, amazing out on the trail, and does minimalist carry on with ease. It’s very light, and has just the right amount of organization, while wearing extremely comfortably.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

I use this as a dad bag for my two young kids. It is a fantastic chuck around bag and can be packed neatly or frantically which is key for running around with kids! It’s lightweight, sleek, durable, and most important, comfortable.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This is a great bag. At just over a pound, the bag feels like waer8ng nothing. The harness system is very comfortable without being over bulky, something alot of bags have suffered from lately. I didn't care for the waist straps. But luckily, they are very easy to remove and revealed some nice daisy chain loops to each side that instantly gor tiny pockets attached. The bag has several daisy chain like loops her and there, there are extremely discrete. Keeping the bags nice ascetic , but allow for the easy addition of bungee ties or clips to show stuff outside the pack, if desired. But I doubt you'd need to, its very nice and roomy. It suffers a but with organization. Id love to see what they call a yolk pocket nearing the back of the bag, if not in the back. Its got a nice quick access pocket in front, but I like something more hidden for my wallet, phone etc. The clam shell opening is great, the zippers glide smooth and easy to open up the main compartment. The water bottle pockets are fantastic, they wont fit a Stanley with those big handles. But everything else has worked fine and stays put. The onky real complaint i have is the front pocket. Its a bit of a black whole pocket, and they put holes in the bottom for "detritus " to fall out, but that just means my small stuff can't go in there at all, rather see some organization pocket there Otherwise, its a great bag, love it hands down. My new dad bag/ day bag

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This is the perfect bag for everyday carry and hiking with the family. Just the right amount of room for gear, snacks, and multiple large water bottles in the two external side pockets. You can feel the quality in the materials and the thought that went into the design.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

It's a fun and light bag to use. The shoulder water bladder ports flare up a lot on my bag. It's not a deal breaker but imagine it could be avoided with some tweaks. Sometimes the short width of the bag makes packing it a little difficult. But that's also what helps it be better on your back when hiking, so hard to complain.

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Didn’t know too much about this bag but it was yellow like my car so had to match it. Surprise, surprise, I ended up loving it so much. It’s so much for a 22L. Used it on a trip to NOLA, San Diego, and plan on using it on my trip to Korea. There’s so much space inside and then you still have the outer compartments. I used the top outer compartment for personal quick grab stuff and the bottom larger outer compartment for my extras. All in all, I packed 5 pants, 5 shirts, 3 workout shorts, 3 workout shirts, 6 underwear and 6 pairs of socks. Plus toiletries and laptop/accessories for. It fit so well. I usually love using my GWA Citadel or GORUCK GR2 26L, but I have now found a new favorite. Each one has their advantage, but the MPL 22L just packs better for my needs and wears better. Just my opinion.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

The best overall backpack I’ve ever found! Perfect to hike, bike, travel, sleepover, etc. It can do everything you want! Perfect for tall people, if not it will fall down in a bad spot in your back. I’m 6’ and it’s perfect! If you buy it, you’ll need to also buy strap holder, since there’s none on it. But appart from those 2 small points, I can’t find a better backpack! You can feel the quality!

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Maybe the perfect travel EDC bag. I test quite a few bags and do far this checks all the boxes.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This is my third Evergoods bag. Comfortable, spacious, solid quality, and love the yellow. Recommend.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This is my second Evergoods backpack - I also have the Civic Panel Loader. This bag is my go-to for weekend adventures, a picnic with the kids, a long hike with the dog and even a trip to Disneyland (god forbid!) etc. It replaced a Patagonia daypack that had served me well, but the MPL22 outshines it both in functionality and comfort. This is a no hesitation 5-star pack.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Got the yellow. LOVE how this carries for such an incredibly lightweight pack. Just enough organization to use without patches of you like.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Great daypack for travel. Fits nicely in the CTB35 laptop compartment. The crossover look is perfect for city use as well as on the trail; it won’t look out of place anywhere.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

The MPL22 has become my go-to carry-on bag. At 22L, it’s the perfect size to fit under an airplane seat while still holding everything I need for a flight. The pocketing is incredibly versatile. I especially love the external pocket for quick access to my passport and snacks. A massive bonus for me is the lack of a separate, bulky laptop compartment. By integrating the sleeve into the main body, the bag stays lightweight and flexible, which is exactly what I want when I’m on the move. It’s comfortable, nimble, and holds more than you’d think. If you want a travel bag that doesn't feel like a "tech briefcase," this is it.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This has been my main bag for 1 year, used for light travel, EDC/gym and hiking. The combination of full panel opening, light weight, and excellent water bottle pockets is really hard to beat. As a day-hike bag, it's pretty much perfect. However, when I tried to hike a few half-days back-to-back with something like a 6kg load, the harness was not up to the task and by day 2 the shoulder pain was making the hike less enjoyable. The waist strap couldn't help much, but I don't think it's designed for that (one side also came off by itself, so the attachment mechanism, although low profile, isn't 100% secure). My remaining complaints really stem from me using a mountain bag for EDC/travel. I wish it had a boxier shape like the CPL24 for easier packing and the ability to self-stand (currently it's annoying to even wedge between my legs because it just does NOT want to stay upright). And I wish it were wider and less deep, because it sticks out a long way from your back when fully loaded. These points don't affect my rating because it's not designed for those use cases. CPL/CTB have better shapes, but are heavy and overladen with organisation pockets (and are left-shoulder dominant which is a complete non-starter—please don't roll the Kludde side access in to the new 210D MPL!). Overall this is a super versatile bag that has not let me down over my year with it (except maybe on that multi-day hike wrt comfort) . The incoming 210D model sounds interesting, but I really think it's the civic bags that need to go on a diet, not the already lightweight and agile MPL22.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Bought this one from Mukama and the carry comfort immediately stood out. Even when moving around all day, the harness distributes weight in a balanced, natural way. It rides close to the back and stays stable (i like wearing it high and tight), which makes it great for active daily use. Simple design, excellent carry experience. Stretch water bottles are just cherry on top at this point, excellent bag!

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

I’ve bought several backpacks over the years, and this one is by far the best I’ve owned. The material feels great, it’s comfortable to wear, and it isn’t bulky. I use it to carry my laptop and my trinkets to work, and I’ll take it with me when I go hiking.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

If you’ve done your research about this brand, I can personally confirm the mpl22 never dug into my lower back while wearing. The bottle pockets are very spacious and I love that it’s a light clamshell opening bag that doesn’t look like a box on my back. This is a great jack of all trades pack. If you’re interested in a backpack from this brand I think this and the half zip are the best options. I have them both and they’ve been very comfortable under manageable carry weights. That being said, it’s not the best all rounder for urban edc as well as outdoor hiking. I never could get this bag to self stand, the yellow fabric is a tiiiiiiiny bit see through for anything inside the exterior pockets pressing right up against it. Also the yellow is definitely not a low profile color so you may just be better off with the black colorway. There is a mesh pocket inside to store a laptop that’s suspended off the bottom, but it’s not padded and in the main compartment.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Have the 30L version and love. Holds a tun yet the load is easily manageable thanks to the thoughtful layout. Great design!

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

The Evergoods Mountain Loader 22L is hands down one of the best backpacks I’ve ever owned. The build quality is outstanding — it’s sturdy, well-constructed, and feels like it will last for years. It’s comfortable to wear, minimal in design, and gives me exactly the amount of access I need for my day-to-day life without being overkill. I use it for everything — everyday carry, the gym, motorcycle rides, and even day trips up to the lake. It excels in every scenario. The water bottle pouches on the sides are a highlight for me: roomy enough for larger bottles, with a solid elastic top that also holds smaller items securely. I love that they’re deep, so I never worry about things falling out. The zippers are another standout feature — sturdy, smooth, and confidence-inspiring. Everything about this bag screams quality and thoughtful design. If I had to give one suggestion, it would be to add one or two attachment points near the front for carabiners or gear. That would make it even more versatile. Overall, this is an exceptional backpack that perfectly balances minimalism, comfort, and functionality. Highly recommend.

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Love the MPL22. I've got this in Coyote Ecopak as a Dadbag and Daybag for smaller outings, for when the CTB26 is overkill. As my kids get older, this is becoming more and more the case. It also functions extremely well as a solo weekend getaway bag when I don't need to bring a laptop (mine is 16', so doesn't work well in the MPL22 sleeve). Lastly, next to the CHZ22 v3, this is probably the most comfortable Evergoods bag they make.

Customer photo review of MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

I was researching for MONTHS for the right kind of backpack for me. I checked every kind of backpack on the internet as I wanted something I could use for the city as well as for hiking. I came across the MPL22 and loved the look of it as well as the materials and space . I watched all the videos and read all the reviews I could find on it and decided to pull the trigger. I got my mpl22 about 2 weeks ago now and I absolutely love it. Would recommend!

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Well, this might be the end all be all of my EDC backpacks. And the yellow is stunning - why settle for boring black? The MPL22 is my perfect pack for weekend trips and excursions. Everything has its place, and the water bottle pockets are indeed huge and deep, and the outer pockets have great independent literage. Organization is 10/10. It is deeper than backpacks I'm used to, so if packed to the brim it's slightly less comfortable because the pack feels like it's pulling me backwards. All in all, a super well designed, lightweight pack that hits all the right notes without being overbuilt.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

Great EDC bag. Especially for those with little ones, it’s nice to have a bag to carry all the “stuff” that you bring when you have kids.

Fantastic bag! Jest carried the MPL22 on a 40km international march in Luxembourg. Comfortable and breathable with well thought out storage. Can’t recommend it enough.

MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L

This bag has all the features I have been looking for. It's awesome for EDC and I also had my first travel experience with it and it surpassed all expectations!

I just got my first Evergoods bag. I love this MPL22, it's the perfect size for edc and a great day bag for in the woods. I own a lot of high end bags, Eberlestock and more Savotta then I can count and I have the to say the quality and construction of Evergoods is as good if not better then what I currently have. The pockets and where they're placed tells me Kevin Dee knows his stuff. I love the water bottle pockets! Thank you for a great bag Evergoods.
