DESCRIPTION

Inspired by advanced performance-forward sailcloth technology, X-Pac has become a carry community favorite due to its durability, waterproofness, and impressive strength-to-weight ratio. For this summer’s 2026 capsule collection, we constructed our all-day around-town sling in a stealth black X-Pac X42 shell and a covert coyote brown lining. In addition, we’ve added PU-coated YKK zippers to enhance CAS2's protection against the elements.

Perfect size, shape, and discretion for an essentials pack when gallivanting around a new city. Stores a trinket you need to buy, leftover lunch to snack on later, or a small water bottle to stay hydrated. My preferred way to get around a new city is with the CAS2 on my body.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L - X-Pac

I’ve been really impressed with the CAS2 in X-Pac. The 2L size is perfect for everyday essentials without feeling bulky, and the X-Pac material gives it a clean, technical look with just the right amount of structure. What stands out most to me is the design—I actually prefer wearing it as a hip pack more than as a sling. The shape, strap placement, and overall layout just feel more natural and comfortable that way. Access is easy, the organization is thoughtful without being overdone, and it works great for travel, daily use or taking the dog out for walks. It feels durable, refined, and very well designed. For me, it’s an excellent hip pack first and a very capable sling second.

The material quality and finishes are excellent. You can tell it's well designed from the moment you pick it up. Internal organization is optimal. For my personal day to day use, the size feels a bit large, but it sits really well on the torso and stays low-profile despite the volume. I see much more potential for travel, where that extra capacity really pays off. As the one thing to improve, it would be great if the strap were about 10 cm (4 in) longer. Other than that, it delivers exactly what I expected.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L - X-Pac

I want to preface that this is a 4-star bag for me with 5-star construction and 3.5- or 4-star usability, but it could easily be a person's beloved daily carry. A couple of notable pros: the sling is sturdy and comfortable to wear (the breathable mesh is a great design!). The strap is the perfect width for weight distribution, and the buckle is easy to access when the bag is pulled across my chest---I wear this over my right shoulder and under my left armpit. The front Velcro lets me slap a silly morale patch on the bag, and I love it. It's solidly water resistant. All that said, I have cycled through a number of similar slings trying to find my Goldilocks, and this is not quite it. The big want for me beyond inner organization is maximum ease of access to my keys from an easy-zip front pouch. I don't want to fumble while wrangling a toddler, and the dump pouch here, while easy to open, puts me at risk of dropping something I would have preferred to store in the inner volume while freeing keys from the mix. Speaking of the inner volume, I would have loved to steal a bit from the front to give a wider midsection between organization pouches. Especially when full of bumped out items like an Anker Nano charger or misc. daily carry items like a SAK and lighter, the space to slide my phone or my 3DS (still going strong!) started to feel a little too snug. Not unusable, though. The dump pouch itself contributes to this, because the presence of items there can distend the inner zip pouch with mesh pockets toward the middle volume. I'm sure someone out there is saying "get a bigger bag, stupid," and I have. But this bag is right on the cusp of graduating from pocket-reliever to a pleasantly stuffed every-day bag for me. I never had plans to return this and don't now; I am sure my wife or brother will get good use out of it. But it's not the best fit for me. May we all some day be fortunate enough that a bag not quite fitting our needs is the most of our worries!

This is a “buy it for life” quality bag that justifies the price. Fits everything with great organization options. Would be nice to have a divider or something to separate the keys from everything else in the big front pocket to prevent them from getting tangled or scratching sunglasses.

Recently, I made the decision to change my travel carry strategy to accommodate some of the lingering issues I have from a well lived younger life. During this time, I watched a lot of reviews and came across Evergoods. Being a Marine Corps vet the look of the gear drew my attention I ordered the Xpac/coyote version of the CAS 2L and while waiting for it in the mail, I fell through my ceiling and broke 3 ribs. When the CAS arrived it started helping me immediately. I moved all of my EDC over to it, Because having weight in my pants pockets just hurt. The CAS takes that weight and moves it to my shoulders on the opposite side giving me a perfect solution. Even after I heal this will be part of my carry. I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with the form, function and overall awesomeness of these bags. I have other products which will get reviewed right after this one. You have earned a new customer.

Love this! The size is perfect for EDC. The X-PAC with Coyote Brown is sizzling, and the other colors look good too. The zippers have a premium feel that always zip smoothly. I sized down from a previous bag that was flashy and nice, but not as functional. This has enough space to where it doesn’t weigh you down. For hiking and some larger items, the mountain version is also appropriate! From time to time there are sales — snag this when you can. My very small gripe is that I wish they’d used the bigger zipper from the main cavity on the back cavity as well, instead of the smaller zipper. Not a reason to hesitate tho!

I wish the 3.5L bag also had the coyote interior and special black material. If they ever offer that option, I will have two 3.5 L bags

The EG product I use the most (almost daily). A balance of organization and generic space that allows you to carry what’s in your pockets and much more. I carry iPhone, keys, wallet, Kindle paperwhite, charger, sunglasses, small notebook, Tide marker—with additional room to spare. The feature I love the most is the bag’s versatility in sling or hip pack mode. In my opinion it excels as a hip pack, but can still function well as a sling. I’ve not used another combo bag that can do both as well as the CAS. The xpac material gives the bag a look and structure that makes it an overall cleaner and better look than the normal 840D version.

This sling has caused a huge issue for me - my pockets are now empty, so I get paranoid that I lost my stuff. But it's only because this sling bag fits all my essentials so well that I no longer need to stuff my pockets. The material is also incredible - I spilled an entire water bottle in the big pocket, and all it took was turning it over for all the water to pour out. The inside of the bag was then perfectly dry.

I was looking for the "ultimate" fanny pack and found it. It's definitely expensive, possibly a little painfully expensive, but it is incredibly well made. I really appreciate the water resistant construction, as I had problems in the past with documents getting wet while traveling. I use the front compartment for a compact mirrorless camera which fits quite well. If I squeeze stuff in I can also fit a second lens. The rear compartment hold a wallet, phone, and other necessities well. My dumb giant phone doesn't fit in the sewn pocket, but fits fine just in the bottom of this compartment.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L - X-Pac

I'm not really one to buy into a brand out of fandom, but I've bought a half dozen things from Evergoods in the last six months, LOL I do like to buy things for life, and I really appreciate great design and functionality. The CAS2 in xpac really ticks all the boxes. It's big enough for everyday work/man-purse needs; I carry several tools in the main compartment- Leatherman, tape measure, blade, driver, bits, etc. The inside/rear pocket holds charger, cables, backup battery, earbuds, wallet, keys. I typically just throw it over my shoulder for everyday, but wearing this as a fanny pack for hikes is fantastic. It's really comfortable and doesn't move around at all. First bag I've had of this style that buckles at the hip instead of in front, and it's a big improvement. The strap and back foam are slippery enough that it's easily spun around to access without taking it off. I carry a small camera, hat, sunglass case, earbuds and snacks in the front, camera batteries/cards, cables, backup phone battery, PD mini tripod and wallet in the inside zipper. It distributes the weight in a way that you kind of forget your wearing it. The xpac version is maybe a little stiff, but it holds its shape when partially filled, and feels bomber. If there's a drawback, maybe that it appears new after several months of use. Hard to complain there tho. Well done!

It's like having the organization of a cap1 behind the top zipper and the space of a cap2 behind the outer zipper together with a convenient strap you can carry as a sling or hip pack. The x pac has a really great feel to it and the material is water proof. The zippers are a little stiff but I think it's due to their water resistance properties im sure they will get broken in over time. Overall 4.5 out of 5

Size: the minimum belt size is about 37". It's too large to fit on my waistline, which is 28". I may need to take it to a tailor to alter. Color: Its interior is darker than they look in the photos. I wish I got the regular, less expensive version with light-grey interior color so it would be easier to see things inside.

This seems like the perfect 2L waist bag/sling. The X-Pac weight and quality are outstanding and feel very premium. For me, the combination of the pocket with all the inserts and organization, along with the big open front pocket, is perfect. I’m 6’2”, and the fit is excellent, with plenty of leftover strap. This sling is my first Evergoods product, and I will definitely come back here first for my next bag. Highly recommend.

Nice bag, love the interior pockets. Feels great as a sling and a Fpack. Has one glaring flaw, the main pocket zipper tabs, there's 2. Yes 2 does make it easier to open! But its a water proof zipper so anywhere the zipper tabs meet they leave a hole thats not marginal enough to over look. It easily compromises the zippers water proofing. Part of what we’re paying for is the water proofing, I want to have a functional bag as advertise.

I ended up returning the CAS2 XPAC for a few reasons. The price was one of them. Higher price for a fabric that is cheaper at other manufacturers. The big dump pocket in the front is nice, but that's where the key leash is. Keys have a tendency to scratch up items, and if you are placing a phone in there, it'll get scratched. The rear pocket was a pain to access, not allowing a nice opening to really get into the items stashed in there. The organization was nice in the rear pocket though. A simple plastic buckle was used for the strap. Others have fancier Fidlock V-buckles for less.

This thing is awesome, very top notch materials and design. But unfortunately for me the strap wasnt long enough. Had it been a couple inches longer it would have been perfect. I really hope they can come up with a solution to this. There are plenty of slings with longer straps then these on it. But overall an awesome sling.

Only quibble after using it for a few weeks is that the keeper on the strap occasionally comes undone and I have to rewrap it. No biggie, but food for thought for the excellent designers at EG.
