I recently decided to change my travel carry strategy. One important part of that strategy is a day bag. I usually go a little further than is necessary for my gear, its just how I do things. I originally ordered the CPL 16L in xpac and as it happens from time to time you see something you like even better than what you have coming in the mail. So i ordered the CTB 20L in xpac/coyote. This bag is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t resist trying it on even with broken ribs its comfortable. It rides high and tight, excellent padding and straps, and will get just flat enough to fit in my suitcase for day pack duty in Europe.I have no doubt I made the right choice. Fit and finish are top notch definitely a serious piece of gear. No disrespect to the CPL i just liked the layout and pocket arrangement of the CTB better. The return of the CPL 16 was easy and seamless. You have earned a new customer.

The CTB26 in Black X-Pac with the Coyote interior has been a great EDC bag for me. The layout and organization are excellent, and my CAP2, CAP .5, Sony headphones, and keyboard all fit comfortably without feeling too cramped. I especially like the separate laptop compartment, top dump pocket, and yoke pocket—they make my everyday gear really easy to reach. The harness is comfortable and hugs my shoulders nicely, even when the bag is loaded. My only small gripe is the top and side handles, which I wish were a little softer, I don’t see the need for the plastic insert. Otherwise, it’s a really well-designed, comfortable EDC bag, and the Coyote interior looks absolutely sick. Elegant exterior for the office with a rugged interior. I’m in love.

Ok, this backpack is a game changer amongst all other travel backpacks. Obviously the X-Pac material gives you the most stringent, waterproof protection for your valued gear. But the volume and sensible wide entry is perfect for small items (laptop, cables, batteries, etc.) but the wide zippered entry allows for easy and quick packing of a week's worth of clothes. The various pockets makes sense and there are thoughtful touches for reflective patches and passthroughs for rolling luggage. My favorite feature is the reinforced, padded shoulder straps which seamlessly flow from the main backpack compartment. This was a very wise design choice and should add to decades of durability. Evergoods, you've done it again! Thank you!

I love the CTB26 layout—the design feels like a masterclass in organization, and the interior color is genuinely gorgeous. That said, I do have some frustrations. Evergoods can come across as a bit stubborn in a way that risks the brand feeling dated. I don’t think the CTB needs a full redesign at all, but a few small updates would go a long way in making the bag less frustrating to use day-to-day. The back panel is quite divisive, and while evergoods.momes strap keepers on other products, they’re missing here. The sternum strap and zipper pulls also feel surprisingly cheap compared to the rest of the build. There’s still no AirTag pocket either, which feels like an easy addition that would help modernize an otherwise iconic design. The PU-coated zippers are some of the stickiest I’ve ever used, and it makes the user experience unnecessarily annoying. Meanwhile, other brands are actively engaging with their communities and refining their designs, which makes this bag feel like it hasn’t evolved in a while. There’s a balance to be struck, but right now the CTB26 feels a bit like a product from five years ago. In short, it’s a beautiful and iconic bag with a fantastic layout—but it doesn’t quite feel current. It’s also hard to justify the price point, especially given that it’s marketed as American-made when that’s not entirely the case. You may also find yourself wanting to upgrade the zipper pulls and sternum strap, or add accessories like a patch. These extra costs add up quickly, and your money will go further elsewhere.

I have been searching for the perfect EDC/personal item bag for a year. i have been through a bunch of inferior bags. i went down the rabbit hole and compared all the bags. I LOVE THIS BAG!! I travel a ton and beat the heck out of it it’s my edc as a female large animal vet. So versatile. I needed at that sweet spot more than 16 less than 26 to fit at my feet, a water bottle sleeve and a luggage pass through. well placed organization but not so much it’s overwhelming. It’s perfect. thanks thanks thanks. It’s Pictured here in yet another Delta lounge after being beat to heck in my truck all week on my way to another locum gig. It’s got a coat a couple civil access pouches . an i pad and a laptop and my headphones and it’s still loose and squishy. perfection. My husband is getting one for his birthday!! also the xpac has held up well with dirt manure and pet hair.

⭐ Review of the Evergoods CTB 26 X‑Pac I am truly enthusiastic about the Evergoods CTB 26 X‑Pac and, more generally, about the Evergoods brand itself. Every product I have purchased from them has been exceptional in terms of quality, durability, and overall design. The CTB 26 X‑Pac is no exception. It is extremely well‑made, with premium materials and excellent craftsmanship. The backpack is very spacious, and the horizontal laptop/tablet compartment is brilliantly designed. Devices are extremely well protected from accidental impacts, and the pocket is easy to access. I also appreciate the additional security strap that helps keep the laptop in place. My only suggestion would be the addition of a dedicated sleeve for an 11‑inch tablet. The main compartment is large and easily accessible. The top pocket, near the shoulder straps, is extremely convenient for quick access to sunglasses, AirPods, or other small items. The front pocket is very roomy as well and—crucially—its volume is not compromised by the main compartment. Inside the backpack, I really appreciate the hidden pocket for storing a passport or valuables. The front accessory pocket with side access is also well designed and offers a bit of internal organization. Here too, I would have added a specific spot for an AirTag, which would have been very useful. The shoulder straps are extremely comfortable, and the backpack carries exceptionally well even when loaded. One small suggestion: it would be great to have the option to choose between two sizes of sternum strap. The one included is a bit short for me; an additional 3–5 cm of length would make it perfect. My only real disappointment is that Evergoods has very few retailers in Europe, and none in my country (Italy). I purchased directly from the company and had to pay significant customs duties. That said, the Evergoods customer service is outstanding—responsive, helpful, and very professional. 🏆 Conclusion The Evergoods CTB 26 X‑Pac is an exceptional backpack—robust, well‑designed, and full of smart, functional details. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium, versatile bag that can handle virtually any situation. Evergoods once again proves to be a top‑tier brand

It's got the best layout and carrying capacity of any bag of its size. The only thing keeping this from being 5/5 perfect is the straps/harness could be more comfortable. They are a bit thin and the padding doesn't extend the entire way up the straps, so a decent amount of weight ends up being supported by just X-Pac without cushion. Not a huge problem unless you plan on carrying it while fully packed out for long distances.

I am a datacenter technician and i need to carry 2 laptops (personal laptop + work laptop) as well as many different badges for different buildings and tools (fiber optic cleaning and other tools to work on servers and switches etc) and the 26L bag is absolute perfection for me! Everything has a dedicated pocket and the XPack material is so durable and beautiful. This is the perfect design and i dont wish any change on it! This bag is stunning. The X-Pac material looks sharp and takes abuse well. I was surprised that the X-Pac was outdone by the color and contrast of the internal lining. It just looks gorgeous. The bags organization is what convinced me though. It has the ideal openness of the clamshell (giving freedom to organize how I like) while having the pockets that allow for packing even more for easy access. I used this bag for a 10-day trip, attempting one bag travel. It worked perfectly. The bag also stows completely fine under the seat in front of you on the plane (I was on the aisle). The crazy part about this bag is that I first questioned keeping it. The rumors about the pressure on the lower back were true for me. It wasn't comfortable at times when testing it out. However, all of the other qualities of the bag won me over. I also found that if I carry the bag higher and pack a notebook in the laptop sleeve (next to my laptop) it limited the issue. Overall, it's my top bag and after listening to so many youtubers about the many choices out there, I'm glad I chose Evergoods CTB X-Pac. For info on packing, this fit my toiletry bag (small REI bag), two packing cubes, my Cap 2L, Cap 0.5L, 15 inch laptop, couple books, and miscellaneous items

I'm moving out of a Peak Design Everyday 30L and to this bag as my work travel pack. I did weeks and weeks of research before my purchase, looking at likely hundreds of YouTube videos, and I kept coming back to the CTB26 as the Goldilocks one back that could be both my bag for international travel, and my EDC bag for going into the office. The bag lives up to the reputation. The quality is amazing, and I love the X-PAC combination of black with the coyote/khaki interior. The functionality so far is amazing, and I love the various pockets, especially the front dump pocket and the top yoke pocket, which pairs perfectly with the Civic Travel Pouch 0.5L. Fits like a hand in glove. Well done, Evergoods. I'm sure I'll be back for more.

CTB20 in XPAC is the ultimate workhorse. I use it for EDC office bag and travel. The bag is the perfect size for my frame - 5'8", slim build. There is talk about this bag being heavy and "back-digging" while wearing - I couldn't disagree more with these claims. The bag is very comfortable even when fully loaded out. The design is perfect.. I really like how it can carry both personal and work laptops with ease. This is the end-game bag! The beautiful xpac, PFA-free fabric, is icing on the cake.

Wow—features galore! This bag has been amazing as a travel bag, especially in X-Pac in the rainy regions that I normally travel to. I think as an EDC, it's a bit maximalist for my own use case and give the edge to the CPL16. But for travel, oh my...this was such a great purchase that elevated my travel days. I could also understand anyone wanting to buy just one bag for life and choosing this one, regardless of my complaints below. My only critique is about the luggage pass and water bottle pockets (the issues of both are related). By having a luggage pass that forces you to place you bag horizontally on your luggage, the water bottle pocket on the bottom gets sandwiched between the bag and your luggage. An awkward, clunky design flaw that might not even be a problem for most. I personally only need one water bottle pocket, so I would either get rid of it, or turn it into a water bottle compartment that, yes, eats into the main compartment space. Or, a regular luggage pass that makes the backpack sit vertically on the luggage would fix this. The water bottle pocket on the upward facing side when on the luggage runs into the side handle, which goes into the water bottle pocket. It's awkwardly placed so that you have to grab the upper part of the handle (NOT in the middle). As a result, it's not a balanced hold on the bag since you can't grab the side handle exactly in the middle of the bag. Whenever I loaded or unloaded the bag on to my luggage, the weight distribution was always awkward. And whenever I packed heavy, I'd had to grab the outer sides of the bag with both my hands instead of pulling up from the center of the side handle. Overall, this is a fantastic bag that I DO plan to keep, but it has some aspects that need improvement before it is a true end-game bag.
